What to Expect on Your First Visit
When you visit someone’s home, you usually walk in through the front door to a living room. Our Sunday morning service at 10:30 a.m. is the “living room” of our ministry. We try to build our services to encourage authentic worship through music, prayer, and challenging preaching. We hope you will sense the presence of our God and the friendship of our people.
We would also encourage you to experience the practical teaching and somewhat less formal feel of our Sunday evening services. They begin at 6:00 p.m. and last for about an hour.
The best way to really get to know the people of Grace Gospel Church is through one of our Adult Bible Studies. These groups meet for an hour on Sunday mornings at 9:30. Check out the list of classes under the Ministries page to find a group that fits you!
The main entrance to our facility is actually located at the rear of the building, off the main parking lot. When you enter, please visit the Welcome Center in the main lobby and our hosts will help you find your way!
Sunday schools begin at 9:30am.
Sunday Morning Worship begins at 10:30am.
Sunday Evening Services begin at 6:00pm.
AWANA, Youth Group, and Adult Bible Studies begin at 6:30pm
Our Services are also livestreamed and can be found Here, on our Facebook Page, and our livestream Page.
Wondering about God?
If you want to know the truth about God—really know the truth—you are in a great position! According to Jesus, people who really want to know Him find what they are looking for.
People looking for God come in all shapes and sizes. They come from all walks of life, and many different backgrounds. They have had many different experiences. Some aren’t sure God exists, while others believe in God, but aren’t sure how to connect with Him. One thing all of these people have in common is that they have realized they don’t have all the answers. They are open to the possibility that God may exist and, more importantly, He may have a purpose and design for their lives. They don’t know for sure—but they want to know.
If this describes you, where do you start? It seems that so many people are saying so many different things about God and how to find Him. How can you go about this all-important task of finding God and His truth? Here are a few questions to help you in your search.
How can I begin a relationship with God?
Do you know for sure you are going to Heaven? If God were to ask you, “Why should I let you into My heaven?” what would you say? These may be difficult questions for you to answer. If you don’t know, what follows is the best news you could ever hear!
Did you know the Bible tells us that we can know for sure that we have eternal life and will go to be with God in heaven? Read on to find out how! I John 5:13
Five things you need to know about eternal life
First, heaven is a free gift! Like any other genuine gift, it is not earned or deserved. In fact no amount of personal effort, good works, or religious activity can earn a place in heaven for you. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9
The Bible tells us that the reason none of us can earn his way to heaven is because each of us has sinned. Sin is transgressing God’s law and includes such things as lying, lust, cheating, deceit, evil thoughts, immoral behavior, and more. Because of this sin, man cannot save himself and get into heaven on his own merit. If a person wanted to save himself based on his good deeds, the Bible says he would have to be perfect! I sure don’t measure up, do you? Romans 3:23, Matthew 5:48
We know that God loves every one of us, very much, no matter what we’ve done. Because God loves us so much, He does not want to punish us. Instead, He wants to have a real relationship with each one of us and give each of us eternal life. However, God is also just, which means He must punish sin. This presents us with a problem. God loves us, and doesn’t want to punish us, but He is just, so He must punish our sin. The Bible says the punishment for our sin is eternity in a literal hell. I John 4:8, Jeremiah 31:3, Exodus 34:7, Ezekiel 18:4, Romans 6:23
But wait—there is good news! God solved this problem for us in the person of Jesus Christ. Who is Jesus Christ? The Bible tells us that He is God, and that He died on the cross to pay the punishment for our sins and rose from the dead to purchase eternal life in heaven for each one of us. When Christ was on the cross, God the Father laid the punishment for each of our sins on Him! John 1:1, 14; Isaiah 53:6
This free gift of eternal life is received by faith. Faith is not merely believing that God exists. The Bible says that the devils believe God exists, but they certainly won’t be in heaven! Saving faith is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. It means resting upon Christ alone and what He has done rather than in what you or I have done to get us into heaven. Acts 16:3
The question that God is asking you now is. . .
Would you like to receive the gift of eternal life?
Because this is such an important matter, let’s clarify just what it involves. It means that you need to:
- Transfer your trust from what you have been doing to what Christ has done for you on the cross.
- Accept Christ as your Savior. Open the “door” to your heart and invite Him in. Revelation 3:20
- Receive Jesus Christ as Lord. Give Him the “driver’s seat” and “controls” of your life, not the “back seat.”
- Repent. Be willing to turn from anything that is not pleasing to Him. He will reveal His will to you as you grow in your relationship with Him.
Now, if this is what you really want, you can go to God in prayer right where you are.
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:10, 13
If you want to receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, then call on Him, asking Him for this gift right now.
Here’s a suggested prayer:
“Lord Jesus Christ, I know I am a sinner and do not deserve eternal life. But, I believe You died and rose from the grave to purchase a place in heaven for me. Lord Jesus, come into my life; take control of my life; forgive my sins and save me. I repent of my sins and now place my trust in You for my salvation. I accept the free gift of eternal life.”
If this prayer is the sincere desire of your heart, look at what Jesus promises to those who believe in Him:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.” John 6:47
If you have truly repented (forsaken, turned away) from your sins, placed your trust in Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death, and received the gift of eternal life, you are now a child of God! Forever! Welcome to the family of God!
“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” John 1:12
: If you have just received Christ’s gift of eternal life, your relationship with God has just begun!
